I gave in, and read Twilight. I had to see what all the buzz was about. Besides, my sister really enjoyed this book, and was wanting me to read it. So I did.
I’ll be honest, the book didn’t rock me from the start. I almost picked it up like I would a homework assignment. I felt the first couple of chapters were pretty weak. I felt like I was reading Young Adult Fiction. And when I am reading Young Adult Fiction, I don’t like to feel like it.
And then along the way, it roped me in.
So much that I stayed up way to late last night to finish it.
And that the past two nights have been filled with dreams of sexy vampires. (I mean really, how could you go wrong?)
There was action, and in many places i found myself grinning like an idiot. I also found myself emotionally pulled into the story. Bella is a relatable character and I am sure most women felt like her at some point in adolescence. I also totally get the klutziness.
And who would fall at least a little bit for Edward, with his amazing grasp on his self control, and the quiet, and sometimes not-so-quiet caring he exhibits?
I see what all the fuss is about.
I put the next one, New Moon, in the library request today. And i am almost not sure if i can wait.
**On Deck: I don’t know! Suggestions?
try ‘the art of racing in the rain’ by garth stein. i read it in 2 days. but if you’re getting it from the library, you’ll have to wait a while probably.
